The Battle of Antietam was the bloodiest one-day battle in American history. Over 23,000 soldiers were killed, wounded or missing after twelve hours of combat between the North and South. Today, the Antietam National Battlefield is part of the National Park Service, and guests can visit to learn more about the battle and its impact on the community.
