There will be so much to do at Jellystone Park™ Golden Valley, you may never want to leave. But our family vacation resort is also a great “home base” for those who want to explore attractions in and near Bostic, North Carolina.

Spanning 252 miles along the ridge of the Blue Ridge Mountains in North Carolina is the Blue Ridge Parkway. This scenic drive offers plenty of things to do, from camping, biking and hiking, to local art, cultural and historic sites. In Asheville, the Blue Ridge Parkway Visitor Center features a 22-foot interactive map of the Parkway. And no drive along this road is complete without crossing the Linn Cove Viaduct, an engineering marvel seemingly suspended in midair along the southern face of Grandfather Mountain.

What’s a vacation without a little history lesson?😜  Visit Antietam National Battlefield, located 20 miles south of Jellystone Park™, to learn all about the bloodiest one-day battle in American history! Over 23,000 soldiers were killed, wounded or missing after twelve hours of combat between the North and South. Today, the Antietam National Battlefield is part of the National Park Service and is open to visitors to explore and learn.

Want to stay fit while vacationing but also experience breath-taking views? The Appalachian Trail is the perfect spot to do this with a 2,180+ mile-long public footpath that traverses the lands of the Appalachian Mountains, passing through 14 states. Today the trail is managed by the National Park Service, and it’s said that at least 2 million people will take at least one one-day hike on the trail each year.
